Accountant/Senior Accountant

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking an experienced Accountant/Senior Accountant to join their team in California. This supervisory role is perfect for a seasoned professional looking to leverage their expertise in grant accounting and financial management. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex accounting tasks and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee grant accounting processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Utilize MIP accounting software to maintain and update financial records.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure all accounting practices adhere to established standards and procedures.
  • Address and resolve any accounting discrepancies or irregularities promptly.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in grant accounting and financial management.
  • Proficiency with MIP accounting software is mandatory.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to supervise and develop junior staff members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Required Work Hours

The position requires availability from Monday to Friday during standard business hours.

Benefits

This supervisory role offers a competitive salary range between $80,000 and $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
